This is the first expansion for the game and invades the Balaur homeland. This expansion is free for download for existing Aion players and sports a level cap of 55. This game playing experience is heightened by an intense story line and added fun in the way of Pets. Some of the pets simply tag along for the ride while others actually can be helpful in the way of holding some of your items giving you some extra storage along the way. Additionally, they can act as guard dogs warning when there is danger near.

There are two solo instances located at levels 18 and 37 giving players a chance to get into the play at their own pace. Those who are playing at a level 50 or over will have the chance to experience six new instances. These run from single group to multi-group and put the players head to head with dragons, ancient war secrets to reveal and great story lines to keep the player involved.
In addition to all the new levels of play and the added pet characters, there have been changes to the flight mechanic in Aion: Assault on Balaurea Expansion. They have made it easier to get from destination to destination using air currents. There is a graceful use of the currents to take you from location to location and allow you to glide down to your destination. Additionally, there are added geysers as well as updrafts that can be used to help propel the flight along. They have also added a Twitter integration allowing the player to catch screenshots during the game and send them to their Twitter account to share with others. Great extra feature.
With the increase in levels and challenges and an aim at the higher level player, Aion: Assault on Balaurea Expansion is sure to be a hit with avid players and new players alike. New maps and icons to lead the way will only enhance the play of the game. With a detailed graphic and storyboard tone the game is intended to fully immerse the player into the world of Balaurea making for excellent battle and thoughtful strategic play.
